You Are Unique... ish
by Ivey Rhodes on October 7th, 2022
I was an award-winning art minor in college. To be fair, the art department was pretty small and I bribed my art professor (JUST KIDDING!). Artists are notoriously hard on their own work, but I was actually pretty happy with some of it. These days, I would not personally display my work, but despite my best efforts at discouraging it, my wife has littered our walls with them. If you ever come over for CG you can see it.  Read More

It's hard for me to believe my family has lived in Boston for over six years (The second longest place I have ever lived), and our church is five years old today! That's right, this church in Jamaica Plain began in the Curley K-8 auditorium five years ago.  Read More

And I'm Going With You

Our family started watching Amazon's new Rings of Power show, which I'm enjoying. Don't listen to the haters. It's actually really good. Anyway, it got me thinking about my favorite movie ever: "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring."I remember watching it for the first time, and even though it was almost three hours long I didn't want it to be over. It was that good. If you haven't se...  Read More

Where Can You Find Enoughness?
by Ivey Rhodes on September 3rd, 2022
I did not have a lot of confidence growing up. I was one of the shyest, most awkward people ever. You need to understand where I was coming from. Out of my twelve years of school, eleven of them were all or partially homeschooled. So, when I went to a public school in my senior year of high school, I was embarrassingly shy.  Read More

When the day finally came, he was three weeks early, and a little underweight. But he was healthy!  Read More

Your God Is Too Small
by Ivey Rhodes on August 6th, 2022
"Your God is too small," a friend told me. He said that most of my problems in life could be chalked up to my small view of God. At first, I thought that was absurd. I was offended! My view of God wasn't too small! Yet, as I thought about it, he was right. God is so magnificently gargantuan that my finite mind had no chance of fully grasping his enormity. But my biggest problem wasn't my ability to wrap my mind around God. It was that I had shrunk him down to something manageable. Something like... me. He was just a little smarter and bigger.  Read More

God Closes a Door and Opens a Window?
by Ivey Rhodes on July 16th, 2022
Have you ever prayed that God would open a door for you? I know I have. Perhaps, you know someone that after life took an unexpectedly good turn, they said, "When God closes a door, he opens a window." While you can't find anything about God opening spiritual windows to sneak through in the Bible, the idea of God opening spiritual doors is Biblically important.  Read More
