I'm Sorry, I Forgot Again

I am honestly one of the most forgetful people you will meet. I don't mean that I can't memorize things. If I put my mind to it, I can memorize as well as the average person. I mean that I will be told to do something, and then five minutes later I cannot remember what I was told. I don't mean to be that way. Honestly, I'm sorry that I am that way. It's just who I am.

But there is hope! I have a personal assistant: My iPhone. Three apps have changed my life. They're not new, or some sort of memory program, or secret technique. You already know them: Notes, Reminders, and Calendar. I input information in those apps at an alarming level. My iPhone is my second brain and it never forgets an appointment. If you have trouble remembering simple daily things, those three free apps will change your life.

Forgetfulness doesn't just creep into our daily tasks. Some of life's most important things tend to fade over time. So we need memory tools to help us remember. For instance, a marriage is important, so once a year couples celebrate their wedding day and recall the covenant they made with each other. People are important, so every year we celebrate the day they were born. Tomorrow we're going to remember.

This Sunday is one of the most important Sundays of the year. We are reminding ourselves why Arborway exists and what our purpose is. Tomorrow's message will be important if you're new because you need to learn who Arbroway is. If you've been here for years, it's even more important! Because you need to remember who Arborway is.

I hope to see you at worship tomorrow!
