Pray for Pastor Ivey's Family

Most of what I had planned for this week changed. I had a great sermon ready to share and a funny blog to go with it, but that will have to wait for now.

This week, my dad was admitted to the hospital with chest pain, where they discovered he had a dissected aorta. At first, they thought it could be managed with medication, but it quickly became clear that the situation was far more serious.

As I write this tonight, he has been transferred to one of the best hospitals in South Carolina, where he’ll undergo surgery when the time comes. The procedure is extremely complex and expected to take 24 hours. By the time you read this, it may already be underway. Given the circumstances, I believe it’s best for me to be there with him.

We’re praying for a full recovery and many more years of life, family, and serving the Lord. If you would join us in praying for my dad, I would be deeply grateful. His name is Trey.

I won’t be here this Sunday, but you’ll be in very capable hands. My friend, Pastor Tyler Speck, will be bringing a word from 1 Thessalonians, and I’m so thankful he could step in on such short notice. I look forward to being back at Arborway soon.
