Think different.
This was a slogan actively used in Apple advertisements from 1997-2002. The first, and probably most famous TV ad using this slogan features some of the most important thinkers in history. People like Albert Einstein, Amelia Earhart, Pablo Picasso, and Martin Luther King Jr. Many people in society thought they were crazy in their time. Now we see that their strangeness was actually genius. I encourage you to read the copy from the TV commercial below.
“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
Tomorrow I am going to encourage you, not just to think different, but to see how thinking different causes us to live different. We will dive into 1 Peter 2 and see that God has called us to be different. I will show you how your Christian faith integrates directly into everyday life. How it impacts, not just on who you vote for, but also on how you interact with your neighbor who may be voting differently from you... but it also has more impact than even that! No place in our lives should be off-limits from our King Jesus. I hope you'll join us tomorrow. I look forward to worshiping with you!
